My Name is Daniel Lichtenstein-Boris
I have been engaged in struggles for social justice for 25 years, including over 10 as a professional union and community organizer, researcher, and campaigner.
I’ve walked out of class against the invasion of Iraq. I’ve worked for ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, on Chicago’s west side with churches and neighbors to kill rats and hold absentee landlords accountable. I’ve labored next to immigrant day laborers in cold storage meat cellars as a volunteer with the San Lucas Workers Center. I’ve lobbied congress with religious communities as part of Interfaith Worker Justice. I’ve fought clinic closures and mass layoffs as an organizer and researcher with both the California Nurses Association and affiliates of the Service Employees International Union. I’ve helped adjunct faculty unionize, and written exposes of correctional nurse working conditions. I’ve convened organizers to start unionizing new workplaces through Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee.
I see the world and want to change it. I believe in a vision of a better society. I believe in you, and I believe that together we can be what we will to be.
I am just another Human, Being.
