A few thoughts on music theory and reality itself

The screams grew louder the trumpets blasted; the division and confusion of a musical tirade numbed the senses and distorted reality itself. The response to the auditory assault was expected. People ran, screamed in terror, and trampled one another to escape. This was the sound canon. The use of sound waves, and gravitational waves. It was music theory as a weapon.

The constant psychic signals, the harassment and jeers, the bully signaled to his loyal followers to attack, to taunt, to maim, to scold, vilify, and laugh at.

The racial slurs, the hate towards the scapegoat, the vilification of the religious minority; the humiliating and shaming words, these were all designed to break the victim’s willpower, their cognitive abilities, and their ability to function.

Would someone wear earplugs that day? Would someone sing a song, not a violent drum beat or chant of call and response, but a joyous uplifting song? A song we all can sing together, in comfort, solidarity, safely, and happily, with joy and confidence, together.

What is music theory’s role in keeping us upbeat, strengthening the community, bodybuilding for brains and muscles? Could sound help us live together as one people, united with clarity of purpose, without the need for spite?

It’s ironic somehow how the theory of music, of words is turned into a tool, either as a weapon or instrument of healing, a vibratory message. It impacts the very shape and crystalline design of the water within our cellular membranes; to heal or to hurt.

How is music so powerful?

What sounds do you want to hear? A drum beat to enliven quicken the blood and awake the heart? A tempo to fight and focus? A delta wave to sleep? A tuning fork to vibrate at a specific frequency to help heal internal organs? Or will you hear sounds and stressors designed to batter and abuse? The sirens and piercing noises, the squeal of metal against metal, the subtle hypnosis of a repeated message, the constant barrage of radio advertisements.

On a physical level there are superstrings vibrating across the spectrum of time and space, dark matter imposing its will on the visible world, the sounds of reality pushing their way in unseen ways to materially impact solid and liquid states of matter.

Thought fields hum away. Neurons fire off. Impulses move legs, arms, and muscles that memorize how to lean in and awake into motion. Kinetic energy pulses.

So I write today to muse and wonder. Words symbolize ideas, sure. But they also make sounds, sentences with phonetic rhythms; spoken words and music theory.

Is there free will?

Or is it all subconscious dancing to the music of some celestial band for good or ill?

Hmmmm…..
